Walkin in a winter wonderland

As I am writing this post the snow is comin down hard! So this morning I ate pumpkin pancakes, braved the weather, went Estate Sale shopping, and this is what I wore. The vest that I am wearing used to be a coat that was my Moms. We cut the puffy nylon sleeves off and kept the fuzzy sheepskin. It is very warm and very vintage!

This post by DelightfullyTacky inspired me to buy a pretty shade of nail polish and wear it.

The vest looks so similar to the almost 400 dollar UGG version. Mine is vintage and virtually free!

If you were wondering what I got at the sale, just take a look!

On the shelf back in a bedroom was an old Arkansas History book. Every Arkansan needs one!

For the little playhouse out back I purchased some pans to make mudpies in.

The vintage hymnals are going to be used in my projects.

How is your snow day?

Out among the trees

It was a gorgeous day outside, not only to take pictures but to bask in the sunshine after the winter coldness. Yesterday I went thrifting and found some vintage items. I have always admired what other people have found thrifting but never found anything spectacular or interesting. But I was pleased with what I found.

I am excited about the very vintage clothes and styles that are coming out and are popular this year. The high waisted items are easy for my skinny self to fit into and are super comfy!

Look once, Look twice

My latest obsession is the collage barrettes that I have made.

For me, inspiration comes from many places. The past couple of days I have spent inside because of the weather so it gave me some time to sort through and reorganize my tackle box. I came across things that would be great as a center piece in a barrette collage. The pink and blue piece in the barrette pictured above came from the bottom of a dirty sewing basket. I wonder how it made its way to the bottom, out of site until I came and rescued it. The big crystal piece came off of a vintage ring I bought from a local shop. The 2 flowers that are tucked under it were screaming for me to buy them on Etsy.  My Mom has memories of buying the kitty button to use in a project for my baby clothes or accesories. The pink button that looks cute with it was bought when I went to a Piano Camp and stopped in a tiny antique store on the way. The first barrette shown displays some of my unique buttons that I have collected over the years from Estate Sales and fleamarkets.

What I found and what I wore

This past Friday I went Estate Sale shopping. There was only 1 sale and it was just a few blocks away from my house. This is what I wore to the sale.

I was so excited about what I got at the sale. The white thing is a vintage sequined hat that I snagged for 5 dollars! There were so many beautiful earrings, it was hard to narrow it down to the six pairs that I bought.

The gold pair of earrings with the crystal drops are the ones I am keeping for myself, the rest are going to be used in my jewelry creations as shown below.

This piece has a vintage sparkly pin on top of a metal piece from a garage sale. I love the contrast of the gold chain with the tarnished silver and gold pieces.

Daily outfits #1

.My favorite places to find vintage clothes are estate sales. I cut the sleeves off this striped dress to just above my elbow to freshen it up.

Funky spoon earrings that I made.

The vintage look is easy on the pocket and its the thrill of the hunt that is fun for me.

My favorite store in Arizona.

The last vacation our family took was to the sunny state of Arizona. On main street there was a fun paper store called Mystic Paper. Click here for their link. Here are some pictures of their store. Have fun exploring.

The House on Mossy Lane.

Wonderin what I have been up to outside? Well take a peek into my house. The house is made out of natural materials, that were found around my yard. The house on Mossy Lane is a dream house for someone that is tiny enough to be a fairy. Building houses that are tiny are really fun to make. And this one has even stood up to the weather. Thanks for stopping by!
